When using MoeScroll or the Random Article Module, there may be a time when you want to have multiple articles show up in the module at the same time.  This can be easily accomplished by learning how to use the 'Fixed Slide Height' and 'Fixed Slide Width' module parameters.

Each article that is displayed by the module is considered a 'Slide'.  By default, the module purposely shows only one slide a time and then moves on to the next one.  It does this by setting the height and the width of each slide to the size of the container. With these two settings you can affect the way the module shows articles to achieve the look you want.

Here is an illustration of the standard behavior of the module
Fixed Slide Height: Yes
Fixed Slide Width: Yes

* Note that for all illustrations, the Blue box is your Container Div, the Red boxes are visible Slides and the Pink boxes are Slides that are going to scroll into view

Now, if you want to show multiple articles on top of each other, like a Newsline header module, here are the settings you will need to adjust:

  1. Scroll Axis: Vertical
  2. Fixed Slide Height: No
  3. Fixed Slide Width: Yes

This will result in an effect illustrated below:

To create a 'News Ticker' style where the headlines scroll from right to left or vice versa, you simply need to adjust the 'Fixed Slide Width' parameter. Here is an example news ticker setup:
  1. Scroll Axis: Horizontal
  2. Fixed Slide Height: Yes
  3. Fixed Slide Width: No

This will result in an effect illustrated below:
