The main cause of this symptom is that the /modules/mod_moedesigns_randomarticle folder does not have the proper permissions set. The folder needs to be writeable so that the module can store which article it is showing for the day.
To change the permissions on the folder, either use an FTP program or the Control Panel that you were given when you signed up for your hosting account. The folder permissions need to be 777.
